To Greener Pastures

With the title, I’m trying to play off of the phrase “the grass is greener on the other side”

which would imply why these bison are in the water. I feel I made some leaps forward

with this piece and the group of work that will be shown with it. I’m enjoying displaying

a variety of colors and also using a much richer color palette. With this piece (it’s

difficult to see with this online image) I really built of some texture in the bison’s

shoulder as that works well with shaggy hair. I also enjoyed building up some paint

within the water, plus I really focused on creating a subtle variety of color within the

grass to not only create interest, but to help it not feel so flat.
