This is one of those pieces that some might say is a bit of a departure for me. It wasn't
intentional. I just painted it because I wanted to. I was very attracted to the overall
abstraction of the design, with a heavy dark shape presence and a bright, negative space
structure behind the bull. After I had finished the piece, I felt like I was looking through
a window when viewing it. I imagine many folks that live in the same haunts as moose,
have had this experience in real life. You've barely woken up. You're groggy-eyed and
sipping your coffee, then hello! there's a big bull moose in your window. That would
wake me up.
