Clearing Storm by Peter Ellenshaw #0005

“I have painted along this shore for many years; it is one of my favorite areas, a

secret location, which has a place in my thoughts even though it may be many miles

from me.

The day I painted this picture it was very stormy. Toward evening it was beginning

to clear. I started to paint the sunlight hitting the water. Suddenly a wave hit the

rocks and almost took me into the ocean. I finished the painting from memory in the

quietude of my studio.”
